In the United States, ANSI/ASHRAE/IESNA Standard 90.1, Energy Standard for Buildings Except Low-Rise Residential Buildings, is a widely used standard providing minimum requirements for energy-efficient building systems in new and renovated buildings. The U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System is the most prevalent scorecard used by those pursing green-building certification.
